Kari (the Owner) has also been known to help plan weddings and various types of events for her clients. She does have to charge for her planning skills, because she spends a lot of time on the planning portion for you. She will walk you through every detail for your event, make suggestions, and even find things for you.
Because Kari understands how tight money is these days, she offers her clients the option to borrow her own things from her wedding. She also goes to garage sales and buys different items that she feels would look nice for different events. Items that she has lent out before include her white light up arch, her mirrors for on the tables, and even her flowers from her own wedding. Also some other items include glass bowls for centerpieces, tuel, and candles.
All you have to do is let her know what you need or would like to have for your event, and she can either find it some where, or suggest where to get it. Kari also will send her clients Michael's coupons to go towards their, as well as let her clients know when they can get something on sale. She searches the newspapers and the internet for good deals.
I decided to start up my own company after my husband and I were planning our wedding in 2007. I looked around at different caterers and found that not many of them would make the food that we wanted for the budget that we had. I also found that they all had menus that I had to choose from. Well I didn't want the food off of their menu, I wanted something totally different.
SO, at that moment I looked at my husband to be and said "I am going to start my own Catering business." I started it and decided that I wasn't going to charge a fortune for food. I keep my prices low because I understand the economy. I can keep them low because I don't have a menu, a regular staff, or a store front. I hire my bestfriends, and I run my business out of my home. I don't have a menu so the possibilities are endless. I can give you suggestions on a menu depending on what you want, if needed.
Alot of caterers don't let you keep your food that is left over from your event, we on the other hand will not only let you keep it we will package it up for you and put it on ice in a cooler that you provide. We will mark it as to what it's contents are, and the date. That way when you get home you can pop it in the fridge or freezer with out any worries.
My name is Kari Kleckler, I am the owner of Inside Out Catering. I myself am a newly wed also. My husband and I got married on July 27th of 2007. I have a daughter who we love dearly.
I went to school for 2 years at the Allegan County Votec Center for Food and Hospitality Management.
I have worked for the Amway Grand Plaza in the banquet department for 3 years.
I have also worked for Fresh Thyme Catering for 2 years.
There have been other catering companies that I have worked for through out the years as well. Now I work for myself.
